Welcome to our First Annual Boys & Girls Club Mini Stick Nationals, Sponsored by Warrior Lacrosse
The idea for this unique, inaugural event grew from the irresistible popularity of Mini Sticks that we have observed over the years, most notably in the parking lots and grassy areas at the Men's NCAA Lacrosse Tournaments, but also in backyards, beaches, basements, anywhere space (and Mom) allows. The universal enjoyment of participants - players and spectators, young and old, male and female - prompted us to host a formally organized, regional tournament that boasts the first ever "title" of Mini Stick Champion. The tournament, sponsored by Warrior Lacrosse, is a fundraising event for the Boys and Girls Club.
The day will be an exciting one. The athletic fields at Joel Barlow High School will be divided into 34 Mini Stick fields. There will be 6 age divisions for boys and 2 age divisions for girls. Each 5-member team will play a minimum of 5 games, each lasting 20 minutes. There will be a Championship bracket and a Consolation bracket, each of which will offer a second round drop down bracket. Bracket finals for each group will be played in the Stadium at the end of the day. All players will receive a reversible pinnie and tournament T-shirt and a Goody Bag. Prizes will be awarded to bracket winners.
Throughout the Barlow campus will be food vendors, equipment and apparel vendors, interactive games and activities, water stations, music, and over 100 volunteers all working hard to assure a fun and safe event.
